 azalea search . . . under construction

This page is not yet connected to a database, so it will not retrieve any azalea information. When you click the Search button at the end, it will instead send your data as an e-mail to the website committee, to let them know the page is being tested.

We are showing the page to let you critique the search menus and menu entries. They are easiest to judge by using the page to describe azaleas you might be interested in identifying.

You can also see how the information might be displayed (mockup, not your search results) at azalea display.

To share your experiences, and thus influence the design of this page, send an email to the website committee.
  search characteristics   help
This search helps to identify an unknown azalea. Each menu uses terms to describe one characteristic of azaleas. Choose menu entries for the characteristics of your azalea that you can see clearly, and that you can describe using one of the terms in that menu. If in doubt, don't choose an entry for that characteristic (leave its any choice showing). Remember less is more -- the fewer characteristics you choose, the more results you will find, and vice versa. Then click the Search button to list information about the azaleas with those characteristics.

A good strategy may be to first use few characteristics and thus show a lot of possibilities. Then, narrow it down by comparing your azalea with the information we show. Finally, take a look at the images we show.

This search also finds all azaleas with any specific characteristic(s) of interest, such as a particular hybridizer, or a particular azalea used as a pollen parent, or azaleas with fall bloom.
