The Brookside Gardens Chapter was the founding chapter of the Azalea
Society of America. Its long association with Brookside Gardens, one
of the premier public gardens and horticultural research centers in
the US, dates from the first chapter meeting at the Stadler House in
June 1979. The Brookside Gardens chapter primarily draws its members
from the Maryland suburbs of Washington DC, with a wide range of
experience in azalea culture, propagation, use in the landscape, and
history.
The Chapter meets several times a year and hosts or
participates in a variety of local events throughout the year.
Whether you are a newcomer to the glorious world of azaleas or a
seasoned professional, you will find a hearty welcome from your
fellow azaleaphiles in the Brookside Gardens chapter!
