Each spring, an Azalea Society chapter or a group of interested persons hosts a convention, and invites all our members and their friends to attend. Each convention gives you a chance to see gardens in that area, hear talks and see slide shows about azaleas, renew old friendships and make new ones, buy hard-to-find varieties of azaleas at good prices, and participate in the annual business meeting and election of officers. Think of the convention as an Azalea Society birthday party, and a several day immersion into azaleas.

Our 2008 convention, Honor the Greats in Two Thousand Eight was held on May 1-4, 2008 in and around Asheville NC. Attendees saw some of the many beautiful public and private gardens in the area, heard talks about azaleas and rhododendrons, met their far-away gardening friends again, and got some rare and hard-to-find azaleas and companion plants for their gardens!
