Flowers variable: pale tints of strong pink (RHS 48D, 49C, ) to pale pink (RHS 55D) with some strong pink (RHS 48B, 48C, 39D, to 52D) sectors and stripes; occasionally pink with white margins. Blotch is moderate orange-yellow (RHS 165C), or strong purplish-red (RHS 61B) over markings. Single, broadly funnel-shaped with 5-6 rounded, overlapping lobes, frilled edges; 3 ½” x 1 7/16”, 1-2 per bud. Blooms late; late May to early June in Oakton, VA. Calyx strong yellow-green (144B), ¼” long. Leaves elliptic to narrowly obovate, 1 7/16” x 11/16”. Hardy to -5 F. |
