3’ x 3’ (1 ½’ x 1 ½’ in 5 years), dense. Buds white shading to light yellow-green (142C) at base. Flowers white with faint spotted blotch (142C) at center; blotch can be more pronounced or absent. Double with 13-16 frilly-edged lobes, saucer shaped, 2-3 per bud, 2 ¾” x 1 ½” wide. Blooms midseason; mid-May in Vienna, VA. Calyx strong yellow-green (141A), 0.4”. Leaves glossy, moderate olive-green (137A) above, no indumentum. Leaf shape: elliptic, broadly acute apex, cuneate base, flat, 2” x 0.8” wide. Plant and bud hardy to 0°F/Zone 7. Name was selected through NIH charity auction; high bidder got to select the name.
