4’ tall x 4’ wide with an intermediate habit. Flowers tonal: tints of Light Purple (75A to 75A) shading lighter towards the center, lightening over time. Blotch s a prominent, Strong Purplish-Red (64B). Single hose-in-hose with 5 + 5 petals, funnel-shaped, with rounded, overlapping wavy edged lobes, 3 ¼” wide x 2” long, 2-3 per cluster. Blooms early midseason (late April to early May in Oak Hill, VA). Calyx absent. Foliage is a matte Strong Yellow-Green (darker than 143A). Leaves elliptic with a cuneate base and broadly acute tip, up to 2 1/8” long x 7/8” wide. Zone 7; hardy to 0 F, at least. Selection number: RBS 104. Breeder code: #8-97. Named for Lars Larson in recognition of his untiring efforts in support of the Northern Virginia Chapter, especially his long tenure as its President.
