Flowers bicolor: buds and flowers moderate reddish-purple (70B) with a white center, small darker reddish-purple blotch (70A) on pink ground, yellow-green over white. Single with 5 widely rounded, overlapping slightly wavy-edged, somewhat crinkled lobes, funnel shaped, round, overlapping, crinkled lobes that appear notched, 2 ¾-3 ½” wide x 1 ¾-2” long, 2 per cluster. Blooms midseason (early May in Springfield, VA). Leaves matte moderate green. Leaf shape: elliptic, broadly acute apex, rounded base, upcurved edges, 2” long x 1 1/8” wide in spring. Hardy to 0°F, at least/Zone 7. Selection number: RBS 48. Breeder code: 19-95-1. Cross: 'Janice Lynn', Roslyn x 'Folly', Glenn Dale. Named for the hybridizer's niece.
