2’ x 3 ½’ wide (1 ½’ x 2 ¾’ in 7 years), dense. Flowers variable. Buds light purple (77D) or very dark purplish-pink (73A). Most flowers inside light purple (77D) shading slightly paler in throat, with some deep purplish-pink (73A) sectors and wih faint brownish dorsal spotting. Flower outside light purple (77D).Some deep purplish-pink (73A) selfs. Single with 5 rounded, overlapping, wavy-edged lobes, broadly funnel-shaped, 3-4 per head, 2” x 1 ¾” long. Blooms heavily midseason; mid to early to mid-May in Springfield, VA. Calyx near vivd violet (89C), 0.4” long. Leaves semi-glossy, moderate yellow-green (147B) above, hairless. Leaf shape: elliptic, broadly acute apex, rounded base, flat. 1 ¾” x ¾”. Plant and bud hardy to 0°F, at least.
