3’ x 3’ (1 ½’ x 1 ½’ in 5 years), dense. Buds very pale purple (69A). Flower inside very pale purple (69A), shading to white in the center with the base strong to light yellow-green (145A-D), with deep to strong purplish-pink flecks and a few stripes. Flower outside very pale purple (69A). Double and semi-double hose-in-hose with 18 wavy-edged lobes, saucer-shaped, 2 per head, 2 ½” x 2” long. Blooms mid-May in Vienna, VA. Leaves glossy, moderate olive-green (146A) above. Leaf shape: elliptic, broadly acute apex, cuneate base, flat, 4 ½” x 2” wide. Plant and bud hardy to 0°F. Named for a neighbor, good friend and fellow gardening enthusiast.
