Flower inside deep purplish-pink (72D) shading to very pale purple (73D) towards the center with strong purplish-red (59D) blotch spotting; occasional darker sectors. Flower outside deep purplish-pink (72D). Double with 16-18 wavy-edged lobes (outer corolla with 5 lobes), broad funnel-shape, 2-3 per truss, 2.78” x 1.38” long. Occasional deformed stamens and pistil, but not petaloid. Blooms early; April in Vienna, VA. Calyx strong yellow-green (144B), 0.4” long. Leaves semiglossy, moderate olive-green (147A) above. Leaf shape: elliptic, broadly acute apex, cuneate base, flat edges, 1.6” x 0.8” wide. Plant and bud hardy to +5°F. Easily propagated by cuttings. |
