2’ x 2 ½’ wide (3’ x 3 ¾’ in 14 years), intermediate habit. Flowers variable: buds white with close to light purple (75B) markings. Flowers white with strong reddish-purple (72C) sectors, stripes and speckles and some self (75B). Blotch of light yellow-green (near 142C) over white areas and strong purplish-pink (66B) on the selfs. Single with 5 frilly-edged, somewhat pointed lobes, broadly funnel-shaped, 4” x 2 ½” wide. Blooms midseason; early to mid-May in Springfield, VA. Leaves glossy, moderate olive-green (146A) above. Leaf shape: elliptic, broadly acute apex, cuneate base, upcurved edges, 2 ½” x 1”. Plant and bud hardy to 0?F, at least. 'Desiree' x CB #1. Breeder code: #1990-08-12 x Selectionn #: RBS 15. Named for Bob's son.
