Hybridizer: Pete Vines
Colonel Pete Vines was a local azalea hybridizer who lived in Springfield, VA. He had a small nursery and sold named azaleas as well as his own hybrids. He called his azaleas the Holly Springs Hybrids named after Holly Springs, MS, a picturesque antebellum town near the University of Mississippi which he attended. Pete named many of his creations but also sold unnamed hybrids just under number (with the prefix HS). Pete currently lives in Amelia Island, Florida.
