| Buds reddish-orange. Flowers of good substance, funnel-shaped, 3" x 3" with 6 wavy lobes + central "petals" (double), Red Group 42C, with dorsal purplish-red blotch. 0-3 stamens. Calyx 3/8", green. Inflorescence 4" across x 5" high, lax, with 2-3 flowers. Free flowering. Leaves 1 - 2" x 1/2 - 1", narrowly obovate (few elliptic), mucronate, narrowly cuneate, bullate, deep green, ciliate, upper surface moderately setose and underside with veins quite setose (few between) (all visible with lens), leaves retained well through winter. Plant broad, branching well with decumbent branches. Blooms in mid-May. Hardy to at least -5?F. | |||||
