| Description: 4’ tall x 4’ wide with an intermediate habit. Flowers highly variable: 1) white, 2) white with Strong Purplish-Red (67B) stripes and lines; 3) Light Purplish-Pink (65B) with Strong Purplish-Red (67B) stripes and lines and irregular white margin; 4) Strong Purplish-Red (67B) selfs. The blotch is a Light Yellow-Green (145C) on the white areas; Strong Purplish Red (67B) on the pink background; slightly darker purplish-red on the purplish-red fields. Single, most with some petaloid stamens, funnel-shaped with oval-rounded, frilly edged lobes, 3 ¼” wide x 2” long, 2-3 per cluster. Blooms early midseason (early May in Oak Hill, VA). Calyx Strong Yellow-Green (143C), ½” long. Foliage Strong Yellow-Green (143A), semiglossy. Leaves elliptic with a cuneate base, acute tip, flat margins, downcurved base to tip, concave side to side, up to 2 3/8” long x 1 7/16” wide. Hardy to 0 F, at least. RBS 109. Breeder code: #16-98-1.
