3 ½’ tall x 3 1/2’ wide with an intermediate habit. Flowers variable: 1) white with Strong Reddish-Purple (NN74B) stripes, lines, and dashes; 2) Palest Purple (lighter than Very Pale Purple 76C) with irregular white margins and Strong Reddish-Purple (NN74B) stripes, lines, and dashes, blotch of Strong Reddish-Purple (72B); 3) Strong Reddish-Purple (NN74B) selfs, blotch of Strong Reddish-Purple (NN74B) . Single, funnel-shaped with 5 oval-rounded, overlapping, wavy-edged lobes, 3” wide x 1 ¾” long, 2-4 per cluster. Blooms early midseason (early May in Oak Hill, VA). Calyx Strong Yellow-Green (143C), 5/16” long. Foliage Strong Yellow-Green (slightly darker than 143A), semiglossy. Leaf shape: elliptic with a cuneate base and acute tip, downcurved base to tip, up to 2” long x 1/2” wide. Zone 7. Named for Robert (Bob) Stelloh, a driving force at both the national and chapter level. He served as an ASA Vice President, Treasurer, Director, Webmaster, and worked on the Editorial Advisory Board. He held positions in the chapters he belonged to. Bob developed and maintained the azalea photo site pBase, started an email forum, and was instrumental in the creation of the Azalea Research Fund. An avid collector, Bob shared his garden and plants with untold numbers. For these and many other contributions to the ASA, he received the ASA Exceptional Service Award and the Vaseyi Chapter Augie Kehr Award.
