3’ tall x 3’ wide with a dense habit. Buds Moderate Purplish-Pink (68C) to Strong Purplish-Pink 67D with lighter midribs. Flowers in tints of Strong Purplish-Pink (63C) shading lighter towards the throat. Flowers lighten as they mature. Small blotch of Vivid Reddish-Purple (N74B). Single, funnel-shaped, with 5 wavy-edged lobes, 3 3/8” wide x 2 ¼” long, 2-3 per cluster. Blooms midseason (mid May in Oak Hill, VA). Calyx Strong Yellow-Green (143C), 3/8” long. Foliage Moderate Olive-Green (137B), semiglossy. Leaves elliptic with a cuneate base and acuminate tip, downcurved base to tip, up to 3” long x 1 ¼” wide. Zone 7; hardy to 0F, at least. RBS 79. Breeder Code: #33-1998. Named for Barbara (Bobbi) McCeney who was a very active member of the Brookside Gardens Chapter. For her many contributions, she was awarded its Frederic P. Lee Commendation. Bobbi was also the garden’s horticulturist historian at the Landon School in Maryland.
