2-½ ft x 3 ft. 2-¾ " bloom, single. This compact variety boasts especially heavy summer blooms. Fls 2-3/bud, 1-3 buds/dome truss, funnel-shaped, single, 2.25"-2.5" (55-65mm) long x 2.5"-3" (65-75mm) wide, 5-lobed, wavy-edged; deep pink (48B) throughout, with strong purplish red (71C) spotting on dorsal lobe and upper wings. Calyx 0.4"-0.5" (10-13mm) long, moderate olive green (147A). Lvs elliptic, flat, cuneate base, acute apex, 1.5"-1.75" (40-45mm) x 0.5"-0.6" (13-15mm), dull, moderate olive green (147A) above; with hairs on both surfaces, white at first, becoming grayish reddish brown (200B) and less numerous with age. Shrub 3'-4' (0.9-1.2m) tall x 4'-5' (1.2-1.5m) wide in 8-10 years, dense habit. Plant and bud hardy to at least 0°F (-18°C) to 10°F (-12°C). March-April followed by autumn flowering as new buds mature from July to frost.
