Flower inside slightly darker than deep purplish-pink (68A) with red filaments and style, pale yellow-green (155A-157A) dots on dorsal lobe with a distinctive V-shaped marking of dark grayish-reddish-brown (200A) in blotch area. Flower outside slightly darker than deep purplish-pink (68A) at margin shading paler at base. Single with 5 wavy-edged lobes and occasional petaloid stamen, broad funnel-shape, 2 ½” x 1 ½” wide. Blooms early to midseason; mid-April to May in Vienna, VA. Calyx strong yellow-green (144A-B), 0.25” long. Leaves glossy, moderate yellowish-green (137D) above, hairless.
