1 1/2’ tall x 3’ wide with a vigorous, spreading habit. Flowers variable: 1) white with both light and deep yellowish-pink lobes, sectors, and stripes, yellow-green or salmon-red blotch; 2) fukurin: yellowish-pink with irregular white margins and dark blotch; 3: deep yellowish-pink selfs. Heavy petal substance. Single, funnel-shaped with 6-9 large, rounded overlapping lobes with ruffled edges, 3-4” wide. Blooms late (early to mid June in Oak Hill, VA; Satsuki late-midseason). Leaves semi glossy, broad. Zone 7; hardy to -5. Translation: A Garland. Seedling of ‘Asahizuru’. PI 127657, 1938; PI 227079, 1955. BG 1256.
