| 1 1/2’ tall x 3’ wide with a vigorous habit. Flowers variable: 1) white with occasional purplish-pink stripes and yellow-green blotch; 2) fukurin: moderate purplish-pink with irregular white margins and large, prominent dark red blotch; 3) very dark purplish-pink selfs with a dark red blotch. Very heavy substance. Single, funnel shaped with 5-6 wide, rounded, overlapping lobes, some twisted, lateral margins often cupped, 3-4” wide. Blooms very late (mid June in Oak Hill, VA; Satsuki late-midseason). Leaves rounded, large. Hardy to -5. Seedling of ‘Shinkigen’. Translation: Glory. Registered 1966 & 1977. BG0955.
