3-4’ x 1 ¼’ wide, intermediate habit. Flowers of two distinct bicolors. Some flower, inside and out, light purple (75B) center and broad strong purplish-red (72B-C) margins; others with a pale purplish-pink (56B) center and broad strong red (51A) margins. Single with 5 wavy-edged lobes, broadly funnel-shaped, 2-3 per head, 2 ¼” x 1 ½” long. Blooms late season/mid June in Derwood, MD. Calyx pale green, pubescent, 0.1” long. Leaves semi-glossy, moderate olive-green (146A) above, hairy above and below. Leaf shape: elliptic to lanceolate, obtuse apex, cuneate base, flat, 0.6” x 0.25” wide. Plant hardy to -12 F, at least; buds to -10 F.
