2 ¼’ x 3’ (2’ x 2 ½’ in 8 years), intermediate habit. Buds lighter than deep purplish-pink (68A). Flower inside slightly lighter than moderate purplish-pink (78D), shading darker at the margins and lighter towards the center, with brownish-yellow dorsal spotting. Flower outside lighter than deep purplish-pink (68A). Semi-double with 5 wavy-edged lobes and some petaloid stamens, broad funnel-shape, 2 per truss, 2.8” x 1.8” long. Blooms midseason; early May in Springfield, VA. Calyx brilliant yellow-green ((142B), 0.2” long. Leaves semi-glossy, moderate green above. Leaf shape: elliptic, broadly acute apex, cuneate base, upcurved edges, 1.8” x 0.8” wide. Plant and bud hardy to 0°F, at least.
