4’ x 4’ (2’ x 2’ in 5 years), dense. Buds are vivid purplish-red (RHS 57C). Flowers moderate purplish-pink (RHS 65A) to light purplish-pink (RHS 73C) with a sparse dorsal spotting of moderate orange (RHS 171D), and a small pale green blotch at the base. Hose-in-hose, semidouble, and double with 5-6 wavy edged lobes, 2-3 per head; 2-2 ½” x 1 ½” long. Blooms abundantly and early; early April in NV. Calyx is moderate yellow-green (RHS 138B); 0.4” long. Glossy, moderate olive-green (146A) spring leaves are elliptic, cuneate base, broadly acute apex, flat margins; 1.8” x 0.8” wide. Easy to propagate. Zone 7; plant and bud hardy to -5°F.
